QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

What is a poll?
A poll, sometimes called a survey, is one or more questions designed to find out what people think about a certain issue, a certain product, a candidate for elected office. Usually such questions are applied to a representative sample of people from a population (or large group) of interest. For the purpose of 123polls.com, a poll contains only one question and up to ten choices.

Are the poll results scientifically valid?
It depends on the circumstances under which people get to and take the poll. In general, polls that are posted on a web page with a general invitation for visitors to take it, are not considered scientific in the statistical sense. However, if invitations to take the poll are made based on a scientifically planned random sample of a target population which is under study, then there is a reasonable chance that the results can be used to make valid inferences about the sampled population.

Is there a fee to build and deliver a poll?
While we test and develop this service, polls are free. Polls created while the service is offered for free will remain free of charge until they expire or are deleted. To defray some or our expenses, we invite our clients and visitors to patronize our sponsors that appear to the rigth of our home page.
